Additional Graduation Requirements All students must complete a course that meets the state content standards for Algebra I (EC 51224.5). A passing grade second semester validates the requirement (District policy).

*FOR UC/CSU, STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE BOTH A YEAR OF FINE ARTS AND A MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS OF THE SAME WORLD (FOREIGN) LANGUAGE.

For each semester course offering which is completed successfully, with a "D" or better, five (5) credits of required or elective credits are issued. To obtain credits an "A", "B", "C", or "D" grade is required.
If a course is repeated to improve a grade, credit will be assigned only to the higher grade.

Six class periods per day, plus lunch, is the standard student schedule

Seniors must be enrolled in 5 classes each semester.

College entrance requirements vary; it should be understood that meeting these high school graduation requirements does not guarantee entrance to specific colleges.

THE FINAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MEETING GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS RESTS WITH THE STUDENT AND HIS/HER PARENTS.

Course Change Procedures:
Before any change is considered, there must be a face to face conference between the teacher and parent to address any concerns. After the face to face conference, a time period of 2-3 weeks must be given to address concerns discussed during the meeting., If a strong concern still exists, the parent must write a letter to their student's assistant principal, outlining the concerns and reasons for the request and the steps that have been taken before that point to resolve the problem. At this time, a second face to face conference may be necessary. Please note: Adhering to the above policy meant that a change will be considered, not that a change will be made. If you have further questions, please contact your counselor, directly.

Schedule changes may be made for the following reasons only:
1) Student is lacking a graduation requirement (s), and doesn’t have it scheduled.
2) Did not meet the course prerequisite with a “C” or better.
3) Duplicate (same class assigned twice) class assigned.
4) Class was taken in summer school (bring transcript to Registrar/Counselor to verify ASAP).
5) Schedule is missing a class/period.
6) Student previously failed course with same teacher.
7) Prior teacher approval, if required, was not obtained.

We cannot honor requests to change the schedule for specific and/or different teachers than assigned  at the start of school year/semester unless one of the 7 above applies. Changing electives can only happen IF there is room available in the elective classes.  There are no guarantees.
